Santa Claus, the 'Winter Lady' and other holiday characters ride in on fire trucks, then stay to greet every child who comes; Santa heads back to the North Pole once all the children have been greeted. Each child receives a free coloring book, crayons and a lollipop. It is a short, free family tradition that suits toddlers and young children, held outdoors in the square, and the chamber notes that in bad weather the event moves indoors to a location announced later. ## Similar picks in Providence - [Bowen's Wharf Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa's Boat Arrival](https://grassyknees.com/providence/activities/bowen-s-wharf-christmas-tree-lighting-with-santa-s-boat-arrival--listing-10e1b8d272e8e775b74411eb) — Sat, Dec 5 · 12:30 PM · Bowen's Wharf, Newport · All ages · Free · checked Oct 27.
