Local businesses and organizations enter floats, walking groups and other 'glowing' entries covered in holiday lights, and families line the sidewalks to watch the procession after dark. A nighttime parade is a different kind of holiday treat for children, so arrive early for a curbside spot and dress warmly. The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce makes the weather call at 1 PM on the day; the rain or blizzard date is the following Sunday, December 20. ## Similar picks in Providence - [Holiday Stroll & Luminaria in Downtown Westerly](https://grassyknees.com/providence/activities/holiday-stroll-and-luminaria-in-downtown-westerly--listing-bdede9940155b0a94c294593) — Wed, Dec 2 · 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM · Downtown Westerly · All ages · Free · checked Oct 27.
