From 5 to 8 pm local businesses between Horne Square and Town Square hold an open house, with twinkling light displays, live performances and holiday treats along the street. For families the town lists a trackless train ride, photos inside a giant inflatable snow globe, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, glitter tattoos and seasonal crafts for children. Everyone then gathers in Town Square at 7:15 pm for the tree lighting with music. It is a compact, walkable evening that suits all ages, from strollers to grandparents; dress warmly and plan to park a few blocks away and walk in, since Main Street is the event space. ## Similar picks in Raleigh - [Fuquay-Varina Town Tree Lighting](https://grassyknees.com/raleigh/activities/fuquay-varina-town-tree-lighting--listing-485cbbc2ae87c9663b85e12e) — Thu, Dec 3 · 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM · Downtown Fuquay-Varina · All ages · checked Oct 27.
