A late-afternoon start makes it an easy parade for families with young children: you can watch the floats, bands, community groups and Santa in daylight or at dusk and still be home for dinner. Bring folding chairs or a blanket, arrive early for a curbside spot along Main Street, and expect road closures in the downtown area during the parade. The parade caps a weekend of holiday events downtown that begins with the Town Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 3 and the Downtown Association's First Friday on December 4. ## Similar picks in Raleigh - [Apex Rotary Christmas Parade](https://grassyknees.com/raleigh/activities/apex-rotary-christmas-parade--listing-44b035c068e8d0d4a13dd984) — Sat, Dec 5 · 5:00 PM · Downtown Apex, Salem Street · checked Oct 24.
