The ballet follows Clara's imagination from the battle with the Rat King to the Land of the Sweets, set to Tchaikovsky's score performed live, with choreography by Zalman Raffael and richly detailed costumes and sets. With 20 performances — evening shows at 7 pm and matinees at 1, 2 or 5 pm, plus a noon show on Christmas Eve — families can pick a time that suits young children; matinees are the easiest first ballet. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster from the company's performance list. ## Similar picks in Raleigh - [The Nutcracker — Cary Ballet Company](https://grassyknees.com/raleigh/activities/the-nutcracker-cary-ballet-company--listing-e8513ea0f1031076600a0c8a) — Sat, Dec 5 · 11:00 AM · Fletcher Opera Theater, Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts · Paid · checked Oct 24.
