The City of Desert Hot Springs hosts a full day of water-themed fun at Wardman Park to celebrate the community and its most valuable natural resource. Families can watch a firefighters competition and performances by Desert Hot Springs schools, join water balloon toss games and see shark remote-control boat races, with food trucks, local vendors and other family activities throughout the day. In the evening three bands play: Sunkissed Girls (6:00–6:45 p.m.), The Desert Crows (7:00–8:00 p.m.) and Hot Lava, a B-52's tribute (8:30–10:00 p.m.). Sponsors include CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire, Mission Springs Water District, Desert Water Agency and SunLine Transit. Daytime hours suit younger children best.
