The temperature typically drops 30 to 40 degrees, transforming the mountain wilderness into a snow-covered winter wonderland. At Mountain Station, families can build snowmen, toss snowballs in Long Valley, and explore snowy pine groves. The seasonal Winter Adventure Center rents snowshoes ($18/day) and cross-country ski packages on weekends, with gentle, well-marked loops like the Long Valley Discovery Trail. The Mountain Station complex includes heated observation decks, family dining at Pines Café, natural history exhibits, and clean restrooms. ## Similar picks in Riverside - [Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Ride 'n' Dine Thanksgiving at 8,500 Feet](https://grassyknees.com/riverside/activities/palm-springs-aerial-tramway-ride-n-dine-thanksgiving-at-8-500-feet--listing-45b28b52e3d40c612a1d1ebb) — Thu, Nov 26 · 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM · Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Mountain Station · All ages · From $41 · checked Nov 4.
