A free Halloween festival at Hunt Park in Riverside's La Sierra/Arlington area, run by the city's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and the Renck Community Center staff. Children follow spooky-themed paths through the park and stop at themed trick-or-treat stations set up across the festival grounds, collecting treats and small surprises along the way. Costumes fit right in, and the format suits preschoolers and elementary-age children who want a contained, well-lit alternative to neighborhood trick-or-treating. The festival runs for two hours on the Friday evening before Halloween, from 6 to 8 pm. Admission is free; bring a treat bag and a flashlight for the darker paths. Questions go to the Renck Community Center at 951-351-6132.
