The free afternoon in Old Town Elk Grove has live entertainment and food vendors and closes with the lighting of a large public menorah as it gets dark. It is open to everyone, Jewish or not, and works well for families with children of any age who want to see a menorah lit and learn a little about the holiday's story of light. The city lists it as a single event from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.; dress for a December afternoon outdoors, and bring cash or cards for the food vendors. ## Similar picks in Sacramento - [Sunrise Lights the Night Tree Lighting — Citrus Heights](https://grassyknees.com/sacramento/activities/sunrise-lights-the-night-tree-lighting-citrus-heights--listing-daf01b18a3238395b36f3df3) — Fri, Dec 4 · Rusch Community Park, Citrus Heights · All ages · checked Oct 16.
