## About

A two-part family ballet program danced by students of the Woodland Opera House Education Department. The first half is Prokofiev's symphonic fairy tale Peter and the Wolf, in which young Peter and his animal friends outwit a hungry wolf; dancers from Academic Ballet Level 2 and up take the roles. After a short intermission comes a condensed, "sweet" version of The Nutcracker, following Clara and her Magic Nutcracker into the Land of Sweets, with dancers from the Academic Ballet Levels 1 through 5. The shorter running length and the well-known stories make it a gentle first ballet for young children, and a chance to see local kids perform in the restored 1896 opera house. Tickets are sold through the Opera House box office and its Arts People ticketing page; individual performance times were not printed on the show pages read.
