Reading aloud to a dog is low-pressure practice for children 5 and up who are still building fluency or feel shy reading to people, and the library frames it as a confidence builder as much as a reading lesson. Kids can bring their own book or grab one from the children's shelves. No registration is needed. Coming dates: November 7, December 5 and January 2; each session is scheduled for an hour. ## Similar picks in Sacramento - [Read to a Dog — Orangevale Library](https://grassyknees.com/sacramento/activities/read-to-a-dog-orangevale-library--listing-2281c6e0987276cf064fe589) — Fri, Nov 13 (+1 more date) · 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM · Orangevale Library · Ages 6–12 · Free · checked Oct 16.
