Children collect Boo at the Zoo trading cards around the zoo: at the entrances (lesser flamingo), the rides ticket booth (white-handed gibbon) and the Flamingo Plaza kiosk (chimpanzee). There are more in the Reptile Room (American alligator), the Bug House (Caribbean cave cockroach) and the Habitarium (California condor, after a science mission at the desk). On Saturdays at noon there is a costume contest in the Wildlife Theater in the Wayne & Gladys Valley Children's Zoo. Saturdays at 1 PM bring creepy crawlers at the House of Bugs, and Sundays at 1 PM scaly species in the Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Room. Kids are encouraged to come in costume, but no inflatable costumes, because they can frighten the animals.
