Glowfari, Oakland Zoo's family-friendly lantern festival, returns for its seventh year with event dates November 6 through January 31. The Zoo lists closed nights of November 9, 10, 16, 17 and 26; December 24 and 25; and January 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26. Ticket entry times are between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm; entrances close at 7:30 pm with re-entry allowed until 8:30 pm, and all guests must exit by 9:00 pm. The Rides Area runs 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (last rides tickets sold at 8:30 pm) and the gondola line closes at 7:45 pm. All guests, including members, must make a timed ticket reservation; members get a 10% discount but do not enter free. Plan-ahead ticket pricing offers savings on tickets bought in advance; no fixed prices are printed. Member ticket sales start 10/20 at 9 AM and general admission sales start 10/20 at 12 PM.
