The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) hosts a free Trunk or Treat at Kennedy Park on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, continuing a tradition started by the Hayward Public Library and Hayward Promise Neighborhoods. Children collect treats from decorated trunks, and the day includes live entertainment, games, performances, crafts, scavenger hunts and photo opportunities. An Arts Make-a-Thon offers craft stations for a Witch's Hut, pumpkin painting, Halloween décor and costume making, and there is a costume contest for homemade costumes.
