Maria-Clara and the Nutcracker Prince still battle a gang of mice and visit the land of sweets, but digital graffiti and video move the story from 19th-century Germany to a vibrant modern city. Broadway San Jose bills it as a show for the whole family; it runs about two hours with a 20-minute intermission, so it suits school-age kids and teens best. Every guest needs a ticket regardless of age (no lap seats); buy only from Ticketmaster or the San Jose Civic or Center for the Performing Arts box offices. ## Similar picks in San Jose - [The San Jose Nutcracker by New Ballet](https://grassyknees.com/san-jose/activities/the-san-jose-nutcracker-by-new-ballet--listing-ef1cc16c87cae8b41943c947) — Sat, Dec 19 (+5 more dates) · 2:00 PM · California Theatre · All ages · Paid · checked Oct 24.
