Webster Groves' annual Pumpkin Smash lets residents smash post-Halloween pumpkins with a baseball bat and toss them into a dumpster so they can be composted instead of landfilled. The free event includes informational booths, educational activities, games and giveaways. Remove candles, lights, wax, paint, stickers and plastic first. Participating municipalities include Webster Groves, Brentwood, Maplewood, Crestwood and Sunset Hills. A self-serve dumpster stays on site through Friday, November 13.
