Clearwater's first Chalk the Bay festival turns the Coachman Park waterfront into an open-air studio for three days. More than 40 professional chalk artists from around the country create large-scale pavement artworks across the weekend, so families can come back and watch pieces develop from first lines to finished picture. The city pitches it as a family weekend outing, with live music on Saturday and Sunday (including The Mr. Brad Show on Saturday at 11 AM), food, and a Crazy Color 5K Fun Run on Sunday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. Hours: Friday Jan. 15, 3-8 PM; Saturday Jan. 16 and Sunday Jan. 17, 10 AM-4 PM. Admission prices are not printed on the city page; downtown parking information is linked from it.
