An afternoon-into-evening of winter workshops for the whole family at the Nature Center at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation lists nature-themed craft activities and games, plus s'mores with Santa, across a four-hour window, so families can arrive when it suits them and move between stations. It is a good fit for preschool and elementary-age children with their grown-ups who want a quieter, outdoorsy alternative to the big downtown holiday events. The preserve sits on Lake Maggiore with trails and boardwalks through hammock and swamp habitats. The holiday page does not list a fee or registration details; call 727-893-7441 to confirm.
