What makes it work for families is the Kiddie Countdown at 9 p.m.: a full-scale early ball drop for little ones who need to be in bed long before midnight. The evening starts at 7 p.m. with a DJ, a 9:30 p.m. headline set by the band Peace of Woodstock, an NYE night market with artisan goods and celebration swag, and downtown restaurants and food trucks. The organizers call it a safe, family-focused festival for the whole community, so it suits families with young children who want the countdown experience early, and older kids and teens who can stay for the grand drop at midnight. Admission is free. ## Similar picks in Tampa - [Downtown Countdown: Noon Year's Eve at Glazer Children's Museum](https://grassyknees.com/tampa/activities/downtown-countdown-noon-year-s-eve-at-glazer-children-s-museum--listing-5b6acf74080442cd4e2e7bc8) — Thu, Dec 31 · 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM · Glazer Children's Museum · With admission · checked Oct 16.
