Reading to a patient, non-judgmental listener takes the pressure off kids who are just learning or who feel shy reading in front of people, and many children simply love the chance to sit with a friendly dog. Sessions last an hour on a weekend morning, and families can drop in — no registration is required. Bring a favorite book from home or pick one from the children's shelves when you arrive. Two upcoming sessions fall in the window: a Saturday in November and a Sunday in mid-January. ## Similar picks in Tampa - [Safety Harbor Tree Lighting at John Wilson Park](https://grassyknees.com/tampa/activities/safety-harbor-tree-lighting-at-john-wilson-park--listing-db782a5761916a18aa916c00) — Fri, Dec 4 · 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM · Gazebo at John Wilson Park, Safety Harbor · Free · checked Oct 16.
