Families tour authentic pioneer buildings and exhibits, the Trilby Train Depot with its model train room, and a working cane mill used during festivals. It is an easy half-day stop for school-age kids learning Florida history, and toddlers can roam the grassy grounds between buildings. The gift shop stocks old-fashioned children's toys and novelty candies. The museum runs a calendar of themed festival days through the cooler months — a Civil War reenactment in November, the Dade City Christmas Parade it organizes in December, a cane syrup festival in January and a farm festival and quilt show in February — where special-event pricing applies. Summer hours may end early when no guests are on the grounds. ## Similar picks in Tampa - [15th Annual A Night at the Museum (Halloween) at Tampa Bay History Center](https://grassyknees.com/tampa/activities/15th-annual-a-night-at-the-museum-halloween-at-tampa-bay-history-cente--listing-3d7eb989f715fb20f0aad993) — Sat, Oct 24 · 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM · Tampa Bay History Center · From $20 · checked Oct 13.
