On Nov 14 families look at Mark Grotjahn's cardboard 'masks' and build sculptures from recycled cardboard and loose parts; on Nov 21 they study Yoshitomo Nara's giant white heads, Sentinels of Stillness, and model playful clay sculptures; on Nov 28 they learn about Caddo artist Raven Halfmoon's Dancing at Dusk and try coil-building with clay. Drop in any time during the four hours — the studio is in the Art School on the museum's Lower Level, materials are provided, and it suits children of all ages with their grown-ups. ## Similar picks in Washington, DC - [First Saturday Festivals — November/December 2026](https://grassyknees.com/washington-dc/activities/first-saturday-festivals-november-december-2026--listing-3929072c9354d8e8ea8bf865) — Sat, Nov 7 (+1 more date) · 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM · National Gallery of Art · All ages · Free · checked Oct 11.
