Theater on the first Saturday of December. Michael Caine plays Ebenezer Scrooge opposite Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo, so it is an easy first "Christmas Carol" for school-age children who are not ready for a stage production. The film is rated G; the museum notes it contains mild peril and may not suit very young children. The screening is free but ticketed: seats go first to people who registered on Eventbrite, then to walk-ins until the theater is full, so registering is the safer choice for families. Captioning and assistive listening devices are provided and the theater is wheelchair accessible; other accommodations can be requested from nmahprograms@si.edu, ideally two weeks ahead. Pair it with a visit to Wegmans Wonderplace or Spark!Lab elsewhere in the museum. ## Similar picks in Washington, DC - [Festival of Lights and Carols — Downtown Fairfax](https://grassyknees.com/washington-dc/activities/festival-of-lights-and-carols-downtown-fairfax--listing-0b2261312b9f3e74e49bf935) — Sat, Dec 5 · 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM · Old Town Square, Fairfax · All ages · Free · checked Oct 16.
