The 17th annual Acworth Turkey Chase on Saturday, November 21, 2026, is a Thanksgiving-season race through Historic Downtown Acworth and along the shore of Lake Acworth, run by the city's Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department to benefit its Tackle Hunger program. Every participant must bring a non-perishable food item on race day to collect a race number and the long-sleeve event T-shirt. Number pick-up and race-day registration run from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.; the 5K starts at 9:00, a 2K walk at 9:10, and the Little Pilgrim Trot for ages 5 and under at 10:15. Fees are $5 for the Little Pilgrim Trot, $20 for the untimed fun run (ages 6+) and $30 for the timed run (ages 10+), the same on race day, though shirt sizes are guaranteed only for registrations before noon on Wednesday, November 18. The race starts and finishes on Center Street, goes ahead rain or shine and is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier; age-group awards begin with 10 and under.
