The Nightmare on Main 5K is the Halloween-morning race of the City of Kennesaw's 2026 Kennesaw Grand Prix 5K series, run on Saturday, October 31 through Downtown Kennesaw and Swift-Cantrell Park on a mostly flat, USATF-certified asphalt course. Families do not have to race the full distance: each Grand Prix race program includes a one-mile fun run at 7:30 a.m., the 5K at 8 a.m. and a Tot Trot for the smallest runners at 8:55 a.m., followed by awards at 9:15 a.m. The city describes the festival-like atmosphere as good for beginner runners and walkers as well as families. Every race starts at Kennesaw First Baptist Church on Main Street, where there is parking, restrooms and room to warm up. Races are chip-timed, and awards go to overall and masters winners and the top three in 12 age groups. Registration is online at kennesawgrandprix.com; the 5K entry fee is $35 and includes a race T-shirt for those registered by the October 25 shirt cutoff.
