The McDonough Public Library's Spooky Cat Cafe on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., lets children and teens meet and play with adoptable cats from Winging Cat Rescue during Halloween week. The Henry County Animal Initiative explains how to help community cats, including how Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) works for feral cats, and there is a spooky treat for visitors. Families who decide to adopt can fill out an adoption application and may be able to take a cat or kitten home after the event. The library says the program is intended for children and teens. The cafe is set up in the branch's storytime and meeting rooms.
