Atlanta History Center holds its annual Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 11 a.m. in Veterans Park on its Buckhead campus, and invites service members, veterans, their families and community members. This year's ceremony also marks 250 years of American independence; the keynote speaker is Nicholas Reynolds, Colonel USMCR (Ret). The ceremony is free, with first-come seating, and moves indoors if the weather turns. Programming runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: an Atlanta Opera excerpt from Silent Night at 10 a.m., 45-minute Civil War guided tours at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., and a Veterans Park tour at 12:15 p.m. For children, the most hands-on stop is Salute a Service Member, an ongoing station where visitors color a postcard and write a thank-you message that is delivered to active-duty service members. Oral-history videos and a pop-up of World War II and Vietnam-era artifacts round out the day for older students.
