Austin's Veterans Parade marches up Congress Avenue downtown on the Saturday before Veterans Day. According to the City of Austin event page, the parade runs from 9:00 to 10:00 am, followed by a resource fair on the south steps of the Texas Capitol from 10:00 to 11:00 am and a Veterans Day ceremony on the Capitol's south steps at 11:11 am. Families can line the avenue to wave at veterans, marching groups and vehicles. Expect street closures and enforced no-parking zones downtown; the city suggests public garages such as the Austin Convention Center, City Hall and One Texas Center, or CapMetro. ADA accommodation requests should be submitted at least four days ahead.
