Manos a la Obra is the MACC's evening open-studio and workshop series, and this fall it focuses on Día de Muertos traditions. Participants learn the cultural meaning of the holiday while making traditional artwork: sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar) in October, then papier-mâché calaveras, decorations and figures into November, with guest teaching artists sharing techniques. The program is open to community members of all ages and experience levels, so a parent and child or a teen can come together; work independently or collaborate. Sessions are Tuesday evenings 6:30–8:30 p.m.: Oct. 20 (sugar skulls and papier-mâché), Oct. 27, Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 (papier-mâché). Registration is through the link on the city page; no fee is listed.
