The MACC education department's family Saturday program teams up with Mexamericon for a superhero-themed afternoon. Children hear a presentation on Latine comic-book characters and the creators who made them, listen to a story read by a local author, and then design and decorate their own cape to wear. Blue Beetle and friends make a special appearance. The program runs from noon to 2 p.m. and opens the free, all-ages Mexamericon comic convention at the MACC, so families can stay afterward to explore the Comic-Con. It suits elementary-age kids especially, but younger siblings can join the cape-making with help.
