Round Rock Public Library invites families to decorate a pumpkin, artificial pumpkin or gourd as a book character or with a literary theme. Pick up an entry form at the 2nd-floor Youth Reference Desk and drop off the finished pumpkin there between 9 am Friday, October 23 and 1 pm Friday, October 30, 2026. Only painted or decorated whole pumpkins are accepted — no carved pumpkins — and each family may enter one. The library's Teen Advisory Board votes on the entries, and the top three families win Barnes & Noble gift cards ($30, $20 and $10), with winners notified by November 5. A low-pressure at-home craft project that kids of any age can lead, with a fun reason to visit the library during Halloween week.
