The City of Leander honors current and former U.S. military service members with a morning ceremony at Veterans Park on Veterans Day itself. The order of events includes the presentation of colors, the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem, keynote remarks, an Armed Forces medley, the reading of names added to the park's Honor Wall, a patriotic performance, a moment of silence and Taps. It lasts roughly an hour and suits school-age children who can sit through a formal program; it is a meaningful way to show kids the Honor Wall and talk about family members who served. The ceremony is outdoors and starts at 10 a.m. on a Wednesday. Questions go to Leander Parks and Recreation.
