- Austin Nature & Science Center (Austin Parks and Recreation)
The Austin Nature & Science Center's annual evening celebration of nocturnal wildlife and astronomy. From 5 to 8 p.m. the center offers free outdoor activities for all ages: live nocturnal animals up close, guided night hikes along the center's trails, and family-friendly stations run by partner groups including the Capital Area Master Naturalists, Austin Bat Refuge and the American Chemical Society. It is a good first night hike for young children, and older kids can dig into the science stations. Bring flashlights and closed-toe shoes for the hikes and dress for cooler evening temperatures. The center is on Stratford Drive next to Zilker Park.
