Upcoming dates: Sat, Nov 14 · Sat, Dec 5
Two young local musicians, Claire Zhang (a sixth grader) and her sister Cleo Wang (a tenth grader), perform traditional Chinese folk pieces on the ruan, a lute- or guitar-like instrument with nearly 3,000 years of history dating to the Qin Dynasty. The informal hour-long performances take place in the first-floor lobby of Round Rock Public Library, under the main staircase, so families can stop and listen while visiting. For children who play an instrument, it is a chance to hear peers perform music rarely heard live. Performances are Saturday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026, 2 to 3 p.m. No fee or registration is listed.
