- Texas Book Festival
The Texas Book Festival, the largest book event in Texas, returns to downtown Austin on November 14–15, 2026, with more than 280 authors. Alongside fiction and nonfiction for adults, the festival features children's picture books, middle-grade and young-adult authors, programming for all ages in English and Spanish, book signings, cooking demonstrations, family- and teen-focused activities, hundreds of bookish exhibitors and food trucks. The festival is free and open to the public; a handful of sessions are separately ticketed, and Festival Friend Pass donors get priority entry and signing-line access for selected sessions. The City of Austin lists festival hours as 10 am to 5 pm on Congress Avenue around the Texas Capitol, with downtown street closures — plan to use transit or a public garage.
