Leander's free Halloween evening at Devine Lake Park combines a candy path for trick-or-treating, a fun zone of activities, a spooky trail, food trucks, a stage performance at 6:45 p.m. and a costume contest at 7:30 p.m. Families can arrive any time between 6 and 9 p.m. The costume contest is free but needs sign-up through the city's recreation site; categories include Spookiest, Most Magical, Best Gamer, Best Group and Most Creative costume. After the main event, older kids and teens with helmets can join a bike rodeo on bike safety and a decorated-bike nighttime ride at 9:30 p.m. (standard bikes and legal Class 1–3 e-bikes). There is no parking inside the park: park in the neighborhood or at Benbrook Ranch Park (1100 Halsey Drive) and take the free shuttle. Bring costumes and trick-or-treat bags.
