Anne Arundel County park rangers host fall Campfire Chats around a fire at county parks, each on a different theme. At this one in Odenton (GORC) Park, Anne Arundel County Police K9 officers explain how their canine partners are selected, trained and deployed, cover the differences between scent detection and tracking missing persons, and give live demonstrations. S'mores supplies are provided. Bring a portable camp chair and dress for an autumn evening outdoors. It runs 6 to 7:30 p.m. A $5 registration fee covers program costs, and online registration is requested. Dog-loving kids and school-age children curious about police work will get the most out of it.
