Anita C. Leight Estuary Center (Harford County Parks & Recreation)

A two-hour lab session for homeschoolers at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center. Students use the center's lab to learn the tools of microscopy and how magnification works, then look for the features that tell different microscopic plankton apart. It is a drop-off program, so parents do not stay, and it is meant for homeschool students aged 9 to 15. Pre-registration is required, and the fee is $15. A good fit for curious tweens who enjoy hands-on biology.
