The Y in Central Maryland's Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K is held at six locations across central Maryland on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26. Families can walk or run. Registration includes a Turkey Trot shirt and chip timing for adults and youth, and medals go to the top three finishers in age groups that start at 9 years and under. Donations support Y food pantries and help families pay for Y preschool, camp and after-school programs. You do not need to be a Y member. Packet pick-up before race day is strongly encouraged because lines on Thanksgiving morning can be long. The Towson race starts at 8:00 am at Orokawa Y in Towson. The course starts at the Orokawa Y and runs through West Towson and Southland Hills back to the Y. Runners are assigned a start corral at packet pick-up. Parking is free for participants until 11:30 am in the Baltimore County garage on Baltimore Ave.
