The German-style Christkindlmarket returns to Daley Plaza in the Loop for its 2026 season, open daily from November 20 to December 24. Admission is always free. Families stroll the red-and-white striped wooden booths of international and local vendors, listen to live holiday entertainment and try German treats; the organizer's Kinder Club gives children a free passport with riddles and on-site activities that they can pick up at the market, and a lantern parade with the Christkind is planned (dates are announced through the newsletter). Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, with shorter 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours on Thanksgiving (November 26) and Christmas Eve. It is an outdoor market, so dress for the weather; strollers share space with big crowds on weekend evenings.
