The day before Veterans Day, a museum educator from the National Veterans Memorial and Museum leads a hands-on session at the Barnett Branch. Kids learn about the history of paratroopers, then design and build their own parachutes and test how they fall, a mix of history and simple engineering. It is aimed at school-age children and runs Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 3.
