The Dawes Arboretum runs 90-minute hands-on nature study sessions for home-schooled students, led by Arboretum educators. Children ages 6 to 10 meet on the first and third Fridays of the month to explore nature and supplement their science curriculum; a separate program for ages 11 to 13 on the fourth Friday focuses on critical thinking, data analysis and scientific tools. Sessions run 1:30 to 3 p.m.; registration is through the Arboretum calendar, which has the 2026-2027 schedule.
