Brighton Recreation Center serves a festive pancake breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 12, from 9:30 to 11:45 am, the same day as the city's evening Festival of Lights Parade downtown. Families sit down to a hot breakfast, make holiday crafts at the tables and get a visit from Santa, so bring a camera for photos. All proceeds go to Children's Hospital Colorado, which makes the morning a small way for kids to give back during the season. The listed price is $8 per person for adults; the page does not list a separate child price, so check when registering. Registration is online through the City's recreation page or by phone at 303-655-2200, and the registration deadline has not yet been announced. The recreation center is just north of downtown Brighton, a short drive to the parade route for families who want to make a day of it.
