Denver Public Library's Woodbury Branch in northwest Denver hosts a family Create Together session dedicated to gingerbread houses. Instead of a kit, families build their houses from open-ended art supplies, crafts and upcycled materials, so the results are as imaginative as the builders want them to be. Parents, kids, friends and neighbors team up, take on building challenges together and trade ideas, which makes it a relaxed after-school activity for mixed ages rather than a precise baking class. The session runs Tuesday, December 8, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in the branch's basement community room. Registration is open on the library's LibCal page (it showed 18 seats left on October 20), and library programs are free. Families who need ASL interpretation, CART or other disability-related accommodations should contact programs@denverlibrary.org or call 720-865-1111 at least five business days ahead.
