Seedlings is Denver Botanic Gardens' weekly class series for toddlers and preschoolers and one grown-up. Each week has a seasonal theme, and the lesson is repeated over three mornings for different age groups: ages 3–6 on Wednesday, 24–36 months on Thursday and 18–24 months on Friday, with sessions at 9:15–10:00 am or 10:30–11:15 am. Classes mix stories, a nature walk and an art project, with indoor and outdoor parts, so dress children for the weather. Fall and winter themes on the Gardens' calendar include Pumpkins, Gourds and More (Oct 21–23), The Creepy Crawly Garden (Oct 28–30), Pinecones Galore (Nov 4–6), Owls (Nov 11–13), Harvest Treasures (Nov 18–20), Garden Hibernation (Dec 2–4), Three Cheers for Evergreens (Dec 9–11) and Seasonal Treats (Dec 16–18). The fee is $13 per child, or $11 for members, and one adult per child is admitted free; extra adults and non-participating siblings need general admission. Register for the specific theme and age day.
