Upcoming dates: Sun, Nov 15 · Sun, Dec 20 · Sun, Jan 17

A fishing game on the Nature Center lawn at Brazos Bend State Park for would-be anglers who are not sure they are ready to jump in with both feet. Participants explore the basics of fishing and practice casting at plastic fish on the grass to bag their very first 'fish', so they are prepared when the time comes for the real thing. The game runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on one Sunday a month; in this window that is November 15, December 20 and January 17. On the same Sundays the park also holds Fishing with a Ranger at the Hale Lake fishing pier from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. No separate fee is listed; park entrance is $7 per person for ages 13 and older.
