The Leawood Fire Department's annual open house at Fire Station #1 is a free, family-friendly morning for all ages. Kids can climb around and explore fire trucks and emergency vehicles, take station tours, pick up fire department giveaways, and join rubber duck races powered by fire hoses. Taking it to the Streets cooks hamburgers and hot dogs on site, and families can meet the firefighters, ask questions and say hello to Leawood's new fire chief, Andrew Grove. It runs 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 14; no registration is listed.
