On Saturday morning, November 7, Oak Park Library hosts therapy-animal teams from Pets for Life for R.E.A.D. — Reading Education Assistance Dogs. Kids choose a book and read it aloud to a calm, registered therapy dog or cat while the handler looks on, which helps hesitant readers practise without feeling judged. Get a ticket when you arrive and wait your turn; several animals take part. The session runs 10 to 11:15 a.m.
