The Overland Park Police Department hosts a Halloween trunk or treat on the Saturday before Halloween. Children trick-or-treat from car trunk to car trunk decorated by officers and community volunteers, collect candy and meet local police officers in a drug- and alcohol-free setting. It runs from 3 to 5 p.m. at the police facility at 8500 Antioch Road. Families are asked to sign up in advance through the link on the city's event page, and community members can also register to decorate and staff a trunk. Costumes are welcome.
