De Soto Parks & Recreation runs a three-Saturday youth basketball clinic for players in kindergarten through 6th grade in the City Hall gym. Coaches Amy Farmer and Shelby Triplett focus on fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and skill development. Each one-hour session is grouped by grade: kindergarten and 1st grade at 8:30 a.m., 2nd and 3rd grade at 9:30 a.m., and 4th through 6th grade at 10:30 a.m., on Nov. 7, 14 and 21. Registration is $30 per participant and covers all three sessions; children registered by Sunday, Oct. 18 receive a clinic shirt, and registration stays open after that without the shirt.
